COURT DATE!!!

We have our court date, folks!!

May 13, 2008.

In the words of my Mom: "Woah. This is really happening!"

Yes, it is! Praise the Lord!

At court, the judge will determine that we have met the requirements and international regulations for adoption and that Tinsaye is indeed an orphan eligible for adoption. He issues the adoption decree and Tinsaye becomes our legal child.

This is largely a "technical" aspect of the adoption as all the approvals and everything have already taken place, but all the appropriate papers must end up together in the courtroom on this day for the judge to see. If the appropriate papers and people do not appear on that day, then our court case will be delayed until they do. This is the hardest part of the wait.

We will travel 3-5 weeks after we pass court.

For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? (Isaiah 14:27)

13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?" (Isaiah 43:13)

Oh! Oh my good gravy! Oh my goodness I'm nearly in tears that this is actually happening for you.

Am I nuts? Maybe to those that aren't pregnant, the pregnancy seems to have flown by, whereas time has dragged for the mother and father. It seems to me that this adoption process has just flown!

In three weeks, Tinsaye will be officially your child. WOW! Congratulations! =)

How long has it actually taken from start to finish for this adoption? (Not that it's finished yet, but the light is at the end of the tunnel).
