H-O-P-E spells "Family"

After what seemed to be bad news after bad news, we finally received the picture of Tinsaye opening his welcome bag last night!!!! The picture showed him looking at the photo album we sent. Boy, would I give a MILLION dollars to know what was going through his mind at that moment! In Ethiopia, "H-O-P-E" spells family. What warmed my heart last night was knowing that he went to bed that night with hope. Hope of a family who loves him. Hope for a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Oh, how I wish I could post his picture for you here, but ... I really need to respect the laws of Ethiopia and not do that until after our case passes court, which, in case you're keeping track, is only 6 days away!!!

In other news:

I will begin taking suggestions on what I should do ALL NIGHT MONDAY NIGHT to keep myself occupied, since I am CERTAIN I will not be able to sleep!! :-) Knowing that they will be holding court while we are sleeping and that within hours of waking up, we will know whether or not we passed, oh golly ... yeah ... no sleep here on Monday!!!! :-)

Please keep praying for the electricity problem in Ethiopia. Apparently, their power source comes from dams and the dry season is about to come to an end and the lakes are very low, so they are having to do rolling power outages to conserve power until the rainy season begins and the lakes refill (the rainy season begins at the end of June and goes until about the end of September, I believe). Rolling blackouts means they lose power for 24 hours every third day and it is slowing down the amount of paperwork that can be processed significantly. That's one reason for the travel delays (the other reason Merrily elaborated on in her email that I posted yesterday).

So ... that's today's report.
