Just a quick update to say that I finally got the new hard drive installed into my laptop and so blogging may now safely resume!!!! (Did I mention in my last post that my six month old laptop lunched its hard drive the day before we left for Ethiopia????)
Anyway ... I'll begin working ASAP on journaling/posting pics from our trip for you, as well as getting you updated on how things are progressing here at home.
In the meantime, here are some quick highlights from our week:
Tinsaye is a very adventurous eater. He will try anything I offer him (I offer him a bite on a spoon/fork first and then if he likes it -- and he almost always does -- then I fix him a serving). So far, we have had Chinese food, hotdogs, scrambled eggs (sans onions -- that's how they serve them in ET and the poor child HATES onions) and sausage (he LOVED the sausage!), french toast, several variations of pasta dishes with both chicken and beef (well, not chicken and beef together, but ... you know what I mean!!!), peanut butter and jelly, green beans, carrots, pineapple, banannas, cold cereal, milk, and a few others I'm sure. Oh -- Papaw (my Dad) brought peanut butter chocolate ice cream and cones over yesterday -- yep ... those were DEFINITELY a hit too! I think the only things he hasn't enjoyed have been the green beans (but then again, neither do the other kids!!) and pineapple. AMAZING!!! Tomorrow is pizza night in our household ... we'll see how that goes! Ethiopian kids are famous (notorious?) for NOT liking pizza!! I'll let ya know!
The kids and I took a trip to the pool on Tuesday afternoon and that was a HUGE hit. More on this another time, but you have never seen such joy on the face of a child. It was so exciting to watch him experience it for the first time!!!
He is riding his bike like a pro now (still with training wheels, but I have a feeling those are going to be coming off soon!) and is getting better on the scooter. Every morning he asks me right after breakfast: "Now we go and ride bikes?"
He is eager to cuddle, laugh, play Uno (the kid LOVES to play Uno!!!), play soccer, listen to music, do whatever ... he is a JOY!! He's just a happy kid. Talk about God's grace. Incredible.
I am sure we will have some rough days ahead. That is why they say there is a "honeymoon" to adoption. But right now, we are really enjoying these bonding experiences and we continue to pray that the Lord will weave our hearts together into a new family.

Congratulations on finally having your whole family together! Wow! Sounds like you've been having lots of fun. I can just imagine how fun it must be for all of you to watch Tinsaye experience so many things for the very first time.
Sounds Awesome! Like he fits right in! Can't wait to meet him.
Oh Julie! Thanking God for the honeymoon period and all the joys of watching him experience new things with gusto!
God is faithful!
