Words of Encouragement

Here are some verses from the Bible that give me encouragement and peace for this adoption process. They also remind me that our great God -- the very Maker of the Universe -- is close to us and loves us and will indeed direct every step of this journey if we simply ask Him to.

Isaiah 43:5:
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west."

Philippians 4:19:
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

Acts 20:24:
"I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me -- the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Philippians 4:6-7:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

James 1:27:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress ...."

James 4:8:
"Come near to God and he will come near to you."

Psalm 25:4-5:
"Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Psalm 62:1-2:
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."

Proverbs 3:5-6:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and leaning not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

Proverbs 3:27:
"Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act."

Psalm 37:4-6:
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

Galatians 6:9:
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Julie, thank you so much for listing these encouraging words from our Lord. I especially LOVE the one about being in the west and our children coming from the east...WOW!! I'm going to have to put that on my blog somewhere. :)
