T Minus 5 Days and Counting

Woah. Only 5 days left until we leave for Ethiopia to pick up Tinsaye!!! I just KNOW this week is gonna fly. Here's what's left on my to-do/to-buy/to-pack list (keep in mind, this list started out SIX pages long!!! )

Monday-Thursday
  • Wrap up work related to-do list
  • Clean Oven (okay ... it's self-cleaning, but I gotta remember to do it)
  • Get dogs to vet for their shots (waaaay overdue)
  • Call Pediatrician to schedule a consult with my fav. dr. to get together a treatment plan for Tinsaye when he gets here
  • Attend said Consult
  • Go to Build-a-Bear with kids to make a Bear for Tinsaye (they will bring the bear to the airport when we arrive back home)
  • Get travel cash from Credit Union
  • Haircuts for Drew and Mike
  • Call credit card company to alert them of our travel
  • Buy batteries for camera
  • Buy snacks and gum
  • Buy travel clock
  • Email/call people keeping kids to touch base
  • Talk to neighbor who is caring for cats/getting mail
Friday
  • Clean whole house
  • Change everyone's sheets
  • Pack kids and pre-deliver their bags to their destinations
  • Finish packing us (mostly done, but a few things need to be washed at the end of the week and re-packed)
  • Stop yahoo groups' email
  • Charge phones, iPods, and batteries
Saturday
  • Deliver dogs to their care destination
  • Deliver children to their care destination
  • Go to the airport
[Insert great big deep breath]

Happy, excited, but nervous.

By the way ... I did get a prescription for Xanax last week for the trip (for flying-related anxiety). I'm glad I have it. I hope I won't have to use it. But, I won't hesitate to use it if I think I need it. I am going to take a trial dose one day this week to make sure I don't have any adverse reactions to it and to see how it affects me. My new mantra (borrowed from a friend): "Better living through chemistry!"

Oh! You're leaving about the same time we leave for England. =)

My heart is in my throat with excitement/nervousness for you.

How long will you be gone?
