Promises from Habakkuk?

When was the last time you opened your Bible to the book of Habakkuk? Never? Me neither. (I'm sorry to tell you). In just the last two days, however, the Lord clearly had words for me there because two separate people have pointed me toward this latter book of the Old Testament. In its three chapters, I found these very timely promises:

Habakkuk 2:2-3: "And the Lord answered me: 'Write the vision... For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end -- it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.'"

Habakkuk 3:17-19: "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights."
